Japanese Green Tea Cheesecake

If you're in the mood for a delicious Japanese style cheesecake, you must try this easy to make green tea recipe. It’s the perfect dessert after an Asian themed dinner and takes longer to cool than to prepare and cook. TIP: For an authentic dish, shop at any Asian grocery store to buy ingredients.

Ingredients

2-8oz containers fat-free cream cheese, softened
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon green tea powder
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1-9 inch prepared graham cracker pie crust

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Mix in the green tea powder, eggs, and vanilla extract until lightly and creamy; pour into the prepared crust. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the center jiggles evenly when the cake is shaken lightly. Refrigerate 1 hour before serving.

Matcha (Green Tea) Cheesecake Recipe

Mmmm Matcha. If you love traditional Japanese dishes, this one is perfect for you to make and eat! Green Tea is one of the best flavors for cheesecake, and making your green tea cheesecake with actual Matcha is even better. TIP: Find Matcha at any Asian grocery store. If you don’t have one, pick up a tea strainer at any grocery store or Asian grocery store.

Ingredients

1 pre-made graham cracker crust
16 oz cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
1 cup heavy cream
4 tablespoons of Matcha
4 tablespoons of hot water

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 356F .
Make the Matcha: first sift Matcha with a tea strainer, put into a bowl, add 4 tablespoons hot water and mix well. Set aside.
In a large bowl, blend the cream cheese with sugar until its smooth. Blend the sour cream and then mix in the eggs. Mix in the flour and heavy cream until smooth. Add the Matcha and mix well. Pour the filling into the prepared crust though a strainer.
Bake in the oven at 356F for 30 minutes and then bake at 320F for an additional 30 minutes. Chill overnight
